It's quite a job replacing power jacks on the mother board. I have had over 50 years experience in board level and component level trouble shooting and repair. Most of it in the aircraft electronics field. I entered the computer service field from the electronics end, not programming. My experience is in the USAF, airlines, general aviation, and TV repair.
